Geography at Widnes Academy is designed purposefully to develop pupils curiosity about the world around them. We want to give them the skills and knowledge to enable them to explore that world and also to show care and concern. We aim to ensure that pupils understand the uniqueness of the place in which they live and to be able to compare it with other places around the world. We use the National Curriculum as our starting point and building in through both topic work and discrete lessons fieldwork skills using residential trips to support this further.
